Complete, Immediate, and Partial Dentures
Dentures have been used to replace missing teeth for centuries. Today’s modern dentures are designed to resemble your natural teeth and gums as closely as possible. They’re also made from composite materials that are comfortable, durable, and secure. We provide denture fabrication, repair, and relining services.
Types of dentures
There are many denture designs and options available to suit your situation.
Full, or complete, dentures are used when a patient has lost an entire arch of teeth. Partial dentures replace single or multiple missing teeth. Partials have a metal framework for strength and to make them more streamlined. Immediate dentures are full dentures that are fabricated prior to the removal of teeth so they are placed right after surgery. All denture styles are designed to restore the appearance of your smile while fitting comfortably.
Full dentures are held in place by a variety of methods. Most rely on natural suction and are designed to fit the contours of your mouth for a secure fit. Partial dentures can be secured to your other teeth with clips or precision attachments for “invisible” retention. Finally, implant-supported dentures are secured to dental implants that are placed in your jaw bone. Implant-supported dentures are very secure as they are clipped or locked onto attachments which are secured in place by dental implants. When complete dentures are secured by dental implants, they do not cover the palate. This improves your ability to taste and enjoy food. Any group of teeth that you are unable to remove yourself is called a bridge.
